Frosted Fjord Shoreline on Kvaløya

Mike Zawadzki Photography

Driving along the coast of Kvaløya provides for some epic views. It will always be a special place to me. Though it doesn't seem like a large island, the roads wind around the fjords and mountains in such a manner that it takes longer periods of time to cover what look like small distances on a map. Though I am sure I will be exploring more islands, fjords, and parts of Northern Norway in the future, Kvaløya has set a high benchmark for its diversity in views, colors, and the way the light wraps around the island during the extende glowing sunsets of an Arctic winter afternoon.
